"Grown Out of Community"

Last weekend's Pumpkin Smashing was an incredibly fun event! In its 3rd year this composting event has become a community favorite. We welcomed 135 kids, parents, and dogs to the garden to help us process a HUGE donation of pumpkins from local retailers. Thanks to tremendous effort from Feed and be fed board members, TGC members and local High School students we were able to provide many pumpkins for smashing and racing and we are now filling up our compost bins with the spoils. Thank you to everyone who took part in this year's event.

November is a month when gratitude comes to the forefront. We often spend time counting our blessings at Thanksgiving. This Thursday the San Pedro Faith Consortium is hosting the its annual Service of Gratitude at the United Methodist Church. We are so fortunate to have a strong interfaith community and we are looking forward to being together to give thanks once again. The service is at 7pm and a light reception will follow.

This week's Sunday rhythm continues the focus on abundance with the theme of abundance in community. We will take a closer look at Deuteronomy chapter 24:10-22 which talk about the ethics around sharing, debt and how we relate to one another. All are welcome as we spend time in community together.

In Faith,

Rev. Amanda
