Yes We Can Freeze, Can or Dehydrate!

When we are tempted to throw away food because it is almost spoiled, think of the 3 options in the title. Freezing is the easiest, even though it may be food that people typically say to not freeze. You can always put it in a future meal where its sogginess doesn’t matter. Canning is a process that has fallen out of modern practice but is not so hard. Please see the UC Master Food Preserver website here http://mfp.ucanr.edu/Resources_/ for numerous videos, recipes, and information on easy and safe ways to can. This preserves the life of the food for a year or more. Dehydrating fruits or veggies on low temperature in your oven is easy. Look up online for the particular food and make the time to save it instead of letting it go to waste.

What We mean when We say All Are Welcome:

At The Garden Church we intentionally welcome all. We do this without requiring adherence to any religious belief or creed. We foster a climate of purposeful inclusion, an environment where all can feel safe, valued, cared for, and given an opportunity to form meaningful connections with the Divine and each other. We cherish the diversity of humanity, a diversity which includes differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, and national origin, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, education, and political perspective.

We are also a member Congregation of the Pacific Coast Association of the Swedenborgian Church of North America
