"Brand New"

The last rains were more than a week ago, but the garden is still lush and green from the rainfall. Slowly our winter crops are coming out and the summer crops including tomatoes are going in. It's an exciting time in the garden.
We've also been busy planning our 10th anniversary celebration coming up in May. As part of our preparations we are asking everyone to share a memory from The Garden Church with us. You can share your memory by writing in a journal we have in the garden or by using this link.
As a kid I always thought that the term "brand new" meant that it was new and had the brand of the company that made it on the item. As in it wasn't so warn out the brand was no longer visible. It turns out the term is more than 500 years old and refers to something newly created fresh from the fire, forge or furnace. A fully new creation.
Our scripture reading this week reminds us that in Christ we are a new creation. Join us as Sunday as we spend time reflecting on what it means to be new and to see one another as new.
In Faith,
Rev. Amanda
