Día de Los Muertos or Day of the Dead

1 min read

This Sunday is a the annual celebration of the Día de Los Muertos or Day of the Dead in San Pedro. Sunday our neighborhood will welcome around 10,000 people coming to mark the day. For the last 11 years our garden gates have been to the community offering something more reverent and sacred.

We offer an opportunity for people to write names on the wall of those who have past and our church community commits to pray for them over the course of the year. We also offer opportunities to explore the garden and create art remembering their loved ones. It is a full and busy Sunday in the garden that looks like no other Sunday. You are welcome to join us for this special day.

In Faith,

Rev. Amanda

What We mean when We say All Are Welcome:

At The Garden Church we intentionally welcome all. We do this without requiring adherence to any religious belief or creed. We foster a climate of purposeful inclusion, an environment where all can feel safe, valued, cared for, and given an opportunity to form meaningful connections with the Divine and each other. We cherish the diversity of humanity, a diversity which includes differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, and national origin, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, education, and political perspective.

We are also a member Congregation of the Pacific Coast Association of the Swedenborgian Church of North America
