We are still enjoying the afterglow of wonderful anniversary celebrations in the garden this last week. It was great to be with so many of you. If you missed any of the many things that happened or just want to relive all the fun: here's the 10-years of making church together slideshow, the well wishes from those near and far including our founding Pastor Rev. Anna, and here are the Instagram and facebook links for pictures from the celebrations. Didn't get a chance to write in the anniversary book? You can do so here digitally. We have also been blessed with many anniversary donations. If you'd like to participate in our 10th Anniversary ask of increments of $10 to help us continue our work you can give your gift here.
This Sunday we are returning to the lectionary with the story of Tabitha being raised from the dead. This is one of the stories we have in our Holy scriptures which centers women and reminds us the critical role women and girls play in the story of faith and in our world. The term "Half the Sky" is a reference to a quote from Chinese Communist Party chairman Mao Zedong. The well known quote is "Women hold up half the sky." While his legacy includes brutality, Mao Zedong also advocated for women to have a fuller role in society. Join us as we seek wisdom and understanding from God's word as it relates to women and girls on on this coming Mother's Day Sunday.
In Faith,
Rev. Amanda
