Hopeful Prayer

This past Sunday we moved indoors for heat. I can only recall one other time we've opted to not worship in the garden due to heat. Rain and high winds have moved us inside before, but this was a rare, likely becoming less rare event. As we all contend with climate change and begin moving to climate resiliency or time in the garden is no different. Recently during a clean out of items in the garden a portion of a stage we used years ago was discovered. There was then a discussion about if it's given away as scrap wood or kept as a platform for the expected El Niño rains. We decided a platform would be helpful as we move through the garden if we could place it over a low lying area prone to puddles. 

As you've likely gathered, heat is in the forecast again leaving us closed to the public this week, save for Sunday worship which we hope will be in the garden. Feed and be Fed volunteers will still provide farm boxes. With or without the heat, the plants still need water, and they still produce. 

This Sunday is a special one in the life of our church. It is time for our annual meeting. We are pairing the annual meeting as we have for the last several years with prayer stations. Our summer sermon series titled the Spirit is moving has focused on hopeful stories in Scripture and in our world. Our prayer stations this week will also focus on hope. We hope you can join us for Sunday worship.
