Our Mother Earth

Writer's picture: The Garden ChurchThe Garden Church

The Garden has been in full bloom and is looking beautiful in time for Mother's Day! Minster in Training, Devin Zuber joined us in the garden last week and jumped in with both feet taking part in 1st Thursday, the Farmer's Market, Open Garden and Leading portions of Sunday's worship service.

This week he is leading Theological Thursday tonight at 7pm at the Whale and Ale (Don't miss it!), helping out at the farmer's market, Open garden and preaching on Sunday. For Mother's Day Devin will reflect on our Mother Earth.

Here's a little more about Devin:

Devin is currently the pastoral assistant at the San Francisco Swedenborgian Church, and working on completing ordination with the Swedenborgian Church of North America. While his day job remains teaching theology and religious studies at the Graduate Theological Union (GTU) in Berkeley, California, he enjoys opportunities to work with congregations and faith communities in the Bay Area and beyond. He spent 2021-2022 living with his family in Berlin, Germany, where he volunteered with organizations assisting Ukrainian refugees. He currently lives in Berkeley with his partner Suzanne and their two girls, Sophia (15) and Catherine (13), as well as a big fluffy golden doodle named Louie. When he’s not in the classroom or busy at a church, Devin enjoys surfing and hiking.

It is a blessing to have Devin with us these two weeks. If you haven't had a chance to meet him, please come by.

In Faith,

Rev. Amanda

What We mean when We say All Are Welcome:

At The Garden Church we intentionally welcome all. We do this without requiring adherence to any religious belief or creed. We foster a climate of purposeful inclusion, an environment where all can feel safe, valued, cared for, and given an opportunity to form meaningful connections with the Divine and each other. We cherish the diversity of humanity, a diversity which includes differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, and national origin, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, education, and political perspective.

We are also a member Congregation of the Pacific Coast Association of the Swedenborgian Church of North America
