"Palms and Procession: Holy Times abound"

There are a lot of Holy Seasons happening now and in the coming weeks. Our Muslim siblings began the month of Ramadan this past Saturday, this Sunday begins Holy Week (the last week in lent and week we remember Jesus' last days on earth) in Western Christianity. A week from tomorrow, is Good Friday and the beginning of Passover in the Jewish tradition and the following Sunday is Easter in Western Christianity and Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week in the Eastern Orthodox traditions.

For many of us now is a time to focus on our faith, traditions, and rituals. The things that ground us, and remind us of our connection to the Divine. At the Garden Church we have several opportunities to engage in the traditions of Holy Week:

Palm Sunday, 4/10: We will gather for worship at 4pm, and begin worship with a processional of palm branches around the garden.

Maundy Thursday 4/14 at 6:30pm: We will gather for a meal, including prayer, discussion and communion.

Garden Vigil 4/14 8pm-12pm: We will sit vigil in the Garden in shifts as we remember Jesus' plea to his disciples to stay awake with him. (Contact Rev. Jonathan to sign up for a shift.)

Good Friday 4/15: 3pm and after self-guided prayer stations on the block, 6:30pm In the Garden: We are joining with the United Methodist Church to offer self-guided the Stations of the Cross in the Garden from 6pm-7pm with a brief prayer service at 6:30pm. In addition, beginning at 3pm there will prayer stops on the side walk on both sides of 6th St. between Pacific and Mesa.

All Are Welcome

No matter which tradition(s) or none in particular, strengthen your connection to the Holy One, we lift you up during this uniquely Holy season of the year.

In Faith,

Rev. Amanda
