Poured into Our Hearts

Summer has unofficially begun! From the end of school and a wonderful 1st Thursday celebration in the Garden with the unveiling of the mural. It has been so much fun! On the heals of a wildly successful Feed and be Fed fundraiser, we turned around and hosted 400 people for the mural unveil. The team of 3 who lead the project were honored with scrolls of appreciation from the City of Los Angeles and the 3 organizations behind the Tree of Life Mural (The Garden Church, Feed and be Fed and Arts United) all received scrolls from the County of Los Angeles. Our wonderful volunteers staffed a table featuring fruit and nuts as a part of our celebration of the bounty that comes from trees.

Then on Saturday we spent the morning at the annual Pride Parade and the evening a the 2nd Annual Harbor Connects Gala. Then on Sunday we welcomed Zac Clark from Project HomeMore and Guest Preacher David Johnson to share with us the special backpacks we'll have the opportunity to share with neighbors in need. Pictures of all our fun is attached.

This coming week we'll kick off Summer Sprouts a paid program for children and thier caregivers in the garden. You can sign up for that program here.

But first, this Sunday we'll continue our sermon series "The Spirit is Moving" with a reflection on the Holy Spirit and God's love. We hope to see you in the Garden!

In Faith,

Rev. Amanda

What We mean when We say All Are Welcome:

At The Garden Church we intentionally welcome all. We do this without requiring adherence to any religious belief or creed. We foster a climate of purposeful inclusion, an environment where all can feel safe, valued, cared for, and given an opportunity to form meaningful connections with the Divine and each other. We cherish the diversity of humanity, a diversity which includes differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, and national origin, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, education, and political perspective.

We are also a member Congregation of the Pacific Coast Association of the Swedenborgian Church of North America
