Southern California is experiencing a heat wave this week. As a result of the unusually high temperatures, we will not hold open garden tomorrow. Our volunteers still plan to harvest and be at the farmer's market. We will be back in the garden Sunday afternoon for a light work together time, Sunday worship and our community meal.
Feed and be Fed is just a little over 1 week out from our annual fundraiser. If you haven't gotten your tickets, now is the time! Prices go up on Saturday! You can find tickets and event details here.
You may have heard it said: “A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes." This quote is often attributed to Mark Twain, and some question if he ever said it. In these days of deep fakes and mis-information, we're going to spend some time reflecting on speaking the truth. This Sunday we'll spend time with the story of King David and his dear friend and advisor Nathan learning from Nathan how to speak truth to power.
In Faith,
Rev. Amanda
