Hello all!
This is Thomas Blocker, Garden Church Ministry intern!
As the dust and fireworks settle from the end of our nation’s 250th birthday, we can reflect on the relative youth of our country and how we are not so many generations removed from its inception. So much has happened in the last ten years, let alone 250 years! As we ponder our nation’s life journey, we can also reflect on our own. Reconciling the past, present, and future allows us to make sense of who we are, who we were, and who we want to become. We can even start by asking ourselves: what are we grounded in? What kind of environment has nurtured us, and what gives us life so that we may bear fruit?
I’m excited to say that I have been able to be a part of the Garden Church for over a month now! Throughout my time, I’ve been able to witness, and be part of a wonderful, unique, innovative, and life-giving, community-oriented ministry! In case you would like a little more spiritual reflection in your week, this week we have Godly Vibes led by Pastor David at 7pm on Thursday evening! In addition, we have been hosting a Bible study group gathering focused on a different Earth-focused parable each meeting. We have two this month, one on Saturday, July 11th and another on July 25th, both from 11am–12pm(No pre-reading required!). It has been a pleasure and a blessing to discuss the earth, creation, community, and where we fit into the world with such a wonderful group of people! Furthermore, I will be sharing a sermon this Sunday on a passage from a parable in Matthew that many of you may remember from our first Bible study! Hope you all will be able to join! Blessings to you all as you continue your weeks in the heat of the summer and care for your journeys through life, both spiritual and physical!
Peace be with you!
Thomas
