"Eve"

Summer is underway--this week we had the Summer solstice, the first day of summer and the longest day of the year. In the garden we are welcoming in summertime volunteers and watching the little sprouts program grow.

As a garden and as a church we are continuing our efforts to to waste less with 3 cans available for waste. The first is for LA Cit's curb side compost (which includes green waste and food scraps which are not fit for our compost containers). The second is for recycling, paper, metal, cardboard, glass and plastics #1, 2 and 5. The final bin is for landfill waste. Or ongoing hope and prayer is that the 2nd and 3rd bins are nearly empty each week. Connie has been our diligent trash monitor as we all learn together how to be mindful of what we waste and where it goes when we do let go.

This Sunday we are continuing our sermon series on Women in the Old Testament. This week we're headed to the beginning of the Bible with Eve. Her name is well known as the 1st Woman and a lot has been said about her over the years. Let's take some time together to look closely at Eve, her story and how we understand it as people of faith.

In Faith,

Rev. Amanda
