We had a beautiful birthday celebration in the garden this past Sunday and we're looking forward to Mother's Day this week. The flowers remain in bloom all over the garden reminding us of the excitement and joy of Spring. The 6th street garden team is busy taking in compost, starting seeds and transferring seedlings to beds ready for summer crops. It is exciting to see tomato plants in the ground again.
We are in the last few weeks of the sermon series and have come to the top of the tree with the themes of flowers and fruit. This week we will spend time thinking about what bearing fruit looks like in our lives. As well as those who have mothered us and how we in turn offer mothering to others. And finally, the results of the seeds we plant in the world, literally and spiritually and the kinds of fruit they may bear.Â
With the days slowly lengthening the garden is welcoming more and more people each week. If you haven't been in lately, come in and enjoy! We are open Tuesdays and Fridays 10am-12pm and Sundays 3pm-5:30pm. Come by and say "Hi!"
In Faith,
Rev. Amanda
