"Bountiful Harvest"

For the last few years a wonderful group of youth from a neighboring United Methodist Church has come to the garden. As part of their Thanksgiving-week service project they spend time with us volunteering, learning and connecting with God in our outdoor urban sanctuary. I am grateful for our lead Gardener Linda O'Brien Rothe who has provided this experience for them each year. This year she is joined by Pastor Connie who will offer some faith connection points for them.

During the Holidays we take breaks in our usual schedule to allow volunteers and staff more time to connect with friends and family. This year once again our garden will be closed on this Friday for a day of rest.

On Sunday after Thanksgiving we will conclude our sermon series on Abundance with a focus on gratitude. In this season when our attention is turned to thankfulness we will take time to reflect on the theme of thanksgiving in scripture and in our lives. With that in mind I want to share a gratiude prayer with you:

Dear God, thank you for holidays and fun, wildlife and nature, and for walks and autumn colors. Thank you, O Lord, for holidays. Amen (Mary age 9)

We hope to see you this Sunday in the garden.

In Faith,

Rev. Amanda

What We mean when We say All Are Welcome:

At The Garden Church we intentionally welcome all. We do this without requiring adherence to any religious belief or creed. We foster a climate of purposeful inclusion, an environment where all can feel safe, valued, cared for, and given an opportunity to form meaningful connections with the Divine and each other. We cherish the diversity of humanity, a diversity which includes differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, and national origin, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, education, and political perspective.

We are also a member Congregation of the Pacific Coast Association of the Swedenborgian Church of North America
