In the Flow

It's been lovely to be back in the garden this week and last week with a cooler spell of weather.  Lettuces are going in the ground along with other winter crops. Feed and be Fed has been hard at work preparing for a bigger than ever Pumpkin Smashing on Saturday 12pm-4pm at the LAUSD Vic and Bonnie Christensen Science Center (2201 Barrywood). This year will include food vendors an expanded pie baking event and of course pumpkins to be smashed!

At church we're looking forward to the Annual Interfaith Service of Gratitude on Wednesday, November 11th at 7pm. This service takes place at St. Peter's Episcopal Church on 9th St. each year and is organized by the San Pedro Faith Consortium. This year we are asking people to bring a non-perishable item with them to donate to the St. Peter's food drive and as part of the theme focusing on being good stewards of God's abundance.

This Sunday we're continuing our sermon series titled Ancient Wisdom. Our scripture reading is from the prophet Amos in which he depicts the justice and righteousness of God as rolling water and an ever-flowing stream. As people of faith we seek to be inline with God's righteousness flowing in this world. Join us as we reflect on this passage and the ancient traditions which speak to the importance of love and justice in our world.

In Faith,

Rev. Amanda

What We mean when We say All Are Welcome:

At The Garden Church we intentionally welcome all. We do this without requiring adherence to any religious belief or creed. We foster a climate of purposeful inclusion, an environment where all can feel safe, valued, cared for, and given an opportunity to form meaningful connections with the Divine and each other. We cherish the diversity of humanity, a diversity which includes differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, and national origin, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, education, and political perspective.

We are also a member Congregation of the Pacific Coast Association of the Swedenborgian Church of North America
