The lenten season is drawling to a close and Spring is in full swing! Feed and be Fed our non-profit garden partners have been teaching 4th graders at the Science Center, the warm season crops are going in the ground and the garden is full weekly with Easter Seals, POLA High students and our little Sprouts families. It is a good and full season.
In just a few weeks we will mark Holy Week once again in the garden! In preparation for Holy week we are working on a communal art project. Join us in creating the art during Sunday's work together time. This year is a unique year because Maundy Thursday falls on the monthly 1st Thursday Art Walk in downtown San Pedro. The Garden Church board has worked together with Feed and be fed to bring in Christian musicians to perform and offer stations for Maundy Thursday around the garden including a foot (and hand) washing station, a station for bread and grapes and an art and prayer station. This year's holy week will be unique and special and everyone is welcome to take part.
This year the readings at the end of Lent focus on restoring life. When winter comes to an end and we watch trees that once looked dead sprout leaves we are reminded that some seasons bring new fresh beginnings. Spring is one of those seasons. Join us this Sunday as we deep-dive into the prophet Ezekiel's words for the people of Israel.
