As we approach the longest night of the year, in the Garden we have added lights to shine in the dark nights. This year has been harder than most, we know that and we hold that alongside the promises we have in scripture which remind us that "nothing will be impossible with God." (Luke 1:37) This week as the first COVID-19 vaccines make their way to people across our Nation we feel some of that future hope, and we see light in the darkness.
This Sunday we will light the 4th candle in our advent wreaths. With four candles blazing we are reminded of how much closer we are to the annual celebration of welcoming Christ in the form of a tiny baby into the world. With the celebration of Christmas we are reminded of the promises we have in God, the hope those promises give us and the faithfulness of those who prepared the way for Jesus.
On Sunday evening 12/20 were excited to co-host "Holidays and Healing: Your Stories of Love, Light and Loss" with Rudy Caseres. The event was live on facebook and you can watch it here.
All are welcome to join us on our Zoom worship service Sunday at 3pm as we celebrate the 4th Sunday of Advent and at 6pm for Holidays and Healing. We hope to see you all Sunday!
Advent Blessings,
Rev. Amanda
