The Spirit is Moving

The Garden has been undergoing cleanup, decluttering and tiding ahead of the May 30th Annual Fundraiser. On Tuesday a group of volunteers worked for 3 hours weeding and organizing. The afternoon grew particularly windy and the glass art piece we made last summer fell over and shattered. Wind is powerful and we are often reminded of its strength in the garden.

This Sunday is Pentecost a day known as the birth of the church when the Holy Spirit arrives in the form of wind and tongues of fire. It is the official end of the season of Easter. This Sunday and through the summer we have a sermon series titled the Spirit is moving. Focusing on God's presence in our lives and in this world each Sunday we'll explore the places God's Spirit is showing up.

Tonight starts the Annual Celebration of Fleet Week and Peace Week in our San Pedro Community. On Sunday at 2pm we will be open to the community with an offering of Prayer Stations. Each station will offer prompts to pray for and meditate on different places and people in our world who are in war or under threat of war. Our local peace groups will also have events around town including art displays reminding us of the loss of lives associated with the current war with Iran.

On Saturday, our open Garden time will feature art in the garden a chance for artists and those who enjoy dabbling in art to come together and be inspired by the garden. There are supplies and prompts available. Details below. We have a wonderful weekend ahead, we hope to see you in the garden! In Faith,

Rev. Amanda

What We mean when We say All Are Welcome:

At The Garden Church we intentionally welcome all. We do this without requiring adherence to any religious belief or creed. We foster a climate of purposeful inclusion, an environment where all can feel safe, valued, cared for, and given an opportunity to form meaningful connections with the Divine and each other. We cherish the diversity of humanity, a diversity which includes differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, and national origin, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, education, and political perspective.

We are also a member Congregation of the Pacific Coast Association of the Swedenborgian Church of North America
