Yesterday members of our community gathered in the garden to be together and pray following Tuesday's election. As a community of faith which stewards a garden and has several unhoused church members, we are deeply concerned about the environment, adequate housing and all who are in need. The results of this week's election are not a sign of hope for us. We gathered to be together, to share our grief, our numbness, and our desire to be with one another during this difficult time. As a faith community we just finished up a sermon series titled "Truth, Power and Politics" and this week will begin a series titled "Resilient Fatih."
Throughout history, people of faith have held tight to their beliefs in the face of overwhelming challenges. Over the next few Sundays we will look at those stories along side our biblical witness. This Sunday we'll spend time with Proverbs 8 and "Woman Wisdom." Next week we are excited to welcome Rev. Sage Cole an expert in Hellen Keller who will both preach for us and lead Theological Thursday (11/14 at 7pm).
Also coming up this month is the Annual Interfaith Service. This year St. Peter's Episcopal church is hosting. The service promises to be a meaningful time bringing together several religious traditions to share together in a time of community and faith. All are welcome for this service.
We hope you will join us for any or all of these offerings as you are able.
In Faith,
Rev. Amanda
