This weekend marks the change of season and opportunities to celebrate. The summer solstice marks our transition to the summer months. The weather here as warmed up and we are eager to see our summer crops yield their full potential. On Saturday we will have our first Open Garden since the start of the pandemic meaning our gates will be open to the public once again. From 10am-12pm on Saturday members of the public are welcome to explore, volunteer or simply enjoy our outdoor worship space and communal garden. We will continue to follow state and local health protocols. Saturday is also Juneteenth--the now federal holiday which marks the end of slavery in Texas (1865) following the emancipation proclamation (1863). Members of our community have been hard at work on a Juneteenth event done like only San Pedro can, learn more about the NAACP and Tall ships collaboration here. Last but not least, Sunday is Father's Day a chance to celebrate and thank fathers and the father figures in our lives. At church we're wrapping up our sermon series on the parts of worship. This Sunday's emphasis is music and I will share the harrowing story of a father who dared big for his children. Worship in the garden is at 3pm, eat together grab and go style is at 4:30pm. All Are Welcome Come as you are, stay as you are able. In Faith, Rev. Amanda
